The concept of the annual NBA draft is a form of draft in order to get new players into the game and to get the best players in the draft on to the worst teams to maintain competitive balance throughout the association. This concept relates to the NBA target markets because the draft are the the biggest sports channels and also it gets fans hyped up to see the rising star that will be joining the team.

Commissioner David Stern didn’t have another meeting to happen in mind, so he wanted to come to a decision having today to being the last meeting. Owners and players had many things to say with an eight hour meeting Wednesday brought the total talk for 24 over the two days. They talked about a 50-50 split, but players rejected it and the league has said it won't go beyond that number. Owners will meet with players again Thursday after their board meeting, the first time during the 111-day lockout they will have bargained for three consecutive days.
